Gut Health and Microbiome Testing

NutriPATH offers a variety of gut microbiome health tests that analyze the composition and function of the gut and oral microbiome. These tests can help identify microbial imbalances, infections, and other factors that may be contributing to gastrointestinal symptoms or broader health concerns.

NutriPATH uses advanced testing techniques, including quantitative PCR (qPCR), to assess the presence and abundance of microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites.

Examples of NutriPATH Gut Health and Microbiome Tests

1. Complete Microbiome Mapping Test:

  • The Complete Microbiome Mapping Test is a comprehensive gut microbiome test that uses a single stool sample to assess overall microbiome health.
  • It screens for a broad range of microorganisms, including pathogenic bacteria, commensal bacteria, opportunistic pathogens, fungi, viruses, and parasites. The test also assesses functional markers related to digestion and immune function.
  • This test may support the assessment of conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), allergies, leaky gut symptoms, and other gastrointestinal health concerns.

2. Microbiome Basic Test:

  • The Microbiome Basic Test is a follow-up option to the Complete Microbiome Mapping Test. It focuses on qPCR (quantitative polymerase chain reaction) results without functional gastrointestinal markers.
  • It can also be combined with individual gastrointestinal markers for a more tailored analysis based on the patient’s needs.

3. Oral Microbiome Mapping Test:

  • The Oral Microbiome Mapping Test analyzes the oral microbiome, an important microbial ecosystem that may affect both oral health and overall health.
  • Using quantitative PCR, the test accurately measures and quantifies microbiota in the oral cavity. Dysbiosis, or microbial imbalance in the oral microbiome, may be associated with dental problems and systemic conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and neurodegenerative disease.

4. Other Microbiome-related tests:

  • NutriPATH also offers targeted tests for specific conditions and organisms, including Clostridium difficile, Helicobacter pylori, and SIBO.
  • Additional available tests include intestinal permeability testing, Candida antibody/antigen testing, and other relevant gastrointestinal and microbiome markers.

Together, NutriPATH’s gut health tests provide valuable insight into the microbiome of the gut and mouth, helping healthcare practitioners identify imbalances, infections, and other factors that may contribute to a patient’s health condition.
